Mexican “crack” at the HSG

Schuppli awarded teaching prize

Wings of Excellence Award 2012

3 out of 100 students received the St. Gallen Wings of Excellence Award at the 42nd St. Gallen Symposium for their essays on the topic of “Facing Risk”. The prize is worth 20,000 euros.

Founder of the Year receives award

Adrian Locher, an alumnus of the University of St.Gallen, has won the 2012 “HSG Founder of the Year” competition with the company DeinDeal.ch that he set up. The prize is worth CHF 10,000.

St.Gallen against leukaemia

On Wednesday, 9 May 2012 from10 a.m. to 6 p.m., HSG students will be running a typing drive for the general public in the Library Building. Healthy people between 18 and 55 will be able to give saliva samples.

Discussion about “Facing Risk”

On Thursday, 3 May 2012, the 42nd St. Gallen Symposium on the topic of “Facing Risk” will be opened on the campus of the University of St.Gallen (HSG). The speakers will include H.E. George A. Papandreou (Greece).

Defence of the Eurozone

The French financial expert Jean-Claude Trichet was President of the European Central Bank from 2003 to 2011. At the 42nd St. Gallen Symposium, he delivered a vehement plea in favour of the eurozone.

De Grauwe to deliver the Jöhr lecture

At this year’s Walter Adolf Jöhr lecture, Prof. Paul de Grauwe will be speaking about “Managing the Fragility of the Eurozone”. This public lecture will take place on Friday, 11 May 2012. Admission is free.

Bachelor Graduation Day 2012

Bärfuss to speak in St.Gallen

On 12 March, writer Lukas Bärfuss asks himself “Why do I write?” in public lectures. On three evenings, the audience in the Post Office Building will find out what questions he is not really able or willing to answer.

Think tank for the internet of things

The Bosch Group and the HSG have founded the “Bosch internet of things & services lab”. The think tank is to work on developing web-based products and services and new business models.

HSG in Singapore

The University of St.Gallen opens a permanent institute in Singapore. One of the oldest Swiss private banks is indicted by the United States for helping tax evasion. One of the largest Swiss family firms goes public.

Moser reads from Montagsmenschen

On Thursday, 1 March 2012 at 7.30 p.m. the Swiss writer Milena Moser will read from her latest book, Montagsmenschen. The public reading will take place in the Library of the University. Admission will be free of charge.
