Europe’s diversity – an opportunity

The HSG in the region

Every year, the HSG visits the region with a public lecture series. In spring 2011, a series on “Responsibility in corporate management” will take place at the Frauenfeld Cantonal School.

Nonprofit management

The “Deaconship Management” symposium took place at HSG February 17-19, when 50 nonprofit managers from Germany discussed the St.Gallen Management Model.

Doctor’s Degree Award Ceremony

President Thomas Bieger awarded 65 PhD certificates to HSG students, including 51 Economics doctorates, at the graduation ceremony on February 21.

Musical readings

In its Public Programme, the HSG offers four experimental readings in St.Gallen’s Main Post Office Building. Writers read from their works and are accompanied by a pianist.

Starting out with circumspection

The new President’s Board and the new structure of the HSG are the focal points of the current issue of theHSGBlatt. Further topics are the first “Founders’ Garage”, scholarships and stress during examination times.

The fourth IHK symposium in Eastern Switzerland, held this year at the University of St.Gallen, attracted 250 participants, including President Thomas Bieger and Administrative Director Markus Brönnimann.

Swiss online market booming

The latest study conducted by the IRM-HSG reveals that the Swiss online market generated almost CHF 8.7bn in 2010. With an increase of 48 per cent in comparison with 2008, it therefore registered a record growth rate.
