Knowledge for all

Our library is specialised in scientific publications. It is a public library, accessible to everyone. Its collection mainly comprises works on economics, law, the social sciences and the humanities.

In addition to our scientific documents and resources, the library also offers well-stocked collections of literature, best-sellers, audio-books, magazines and journals, and even a small collection of comic books.

«Das andere Buch an der Uni»
Since 2002 the university regularly (about twice a year) organises readings by well-known Swiss and German authors. We call this series of readings: «Das andere Buch an der Uni». So far we have had appearances by Peter Stamm, Alex Capus, Lukas Hartmann and so forth. These readings have been very successful, not only because the authors have read from their own works, but also because they have given background information on their writings. Usually there has been room for discussions with the audience and a book signing session afterwards.

We would like to invite all people who are interested to our library, which is not only a locus for research and studying, but also a meeting place for lovers of literature.
